After his resurrection, Jesus returned to the presence of God, the Father, in the heavenly glory which he left to come into this world to die for us. God received him back into heaven as the victor who atoned for the sin of the world. Jesus returned to God to claim forgiveness, on the ground of his completely atoning for our sin, for all who trust him as their Saviour.
